Obituary for Carmen Colburn

Mrs. Carmen Gail Colburn, age 53, 25 Miami Drive, Rome, passed away Wednesday morning, July 6, 2011 at her residence.

Mrs. Colburn was born in Floyd County on September 8, 1957, daughter of the former Jeanette Williams and the late Carl William Hann. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Sheila Hann, and by 2 brothers, Donald Lamar Hann and Garry Eugene Hann. She was employed for a number of years as a Nurse’s Assistant in the health care profession and was a private duty sitter. Mrs. Colburn was a member of the Reynolds Chapel Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Jack Colburn, to whom she was married on October 10, 1987; a daughter, Ms. Carmen Diane Easterwood, and her husband, Chris Loveless, Rome; 4 sons, David Hann, and his wife, Debbie, Oklahoma City, OK, William Acrey, Rome, Gary Wayne Hann, and his wife, Mandi, Rome, and Dennis Hann, and his wife, Sheri, Armuchee; 4 step-children, Chris Colburn, Greg Colburn, Ms. April Colburn, and Ms. Kay Cordle, all of Rome; her mother, Mrs. Jeanette Cole, Rome; 2 sisters, Ms. Tammy Hann, Cave Spring, and Ms. Angela Hann, Rome; 3 brothers, David Hann, Rome, Steve Hann, Rome, and Johnny Hann, Sr., Rome; 5 grandchildren, Hunter Acrey, Preston Acrey, Hannah Acrey, Austin Hann, and Nevaeh Loveless, all of Rome; nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 10, 2011 at 2pm at the Reynolds Chapel Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Davenport and the Rev. Bradford Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in Floyd Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home on Saturday evening from 6 until 8pm. At other hours, they may be contacted at the residence of her mother, 27 New Orleans Drive, Rome, GA.

Active and honorary pallbearers are requested to assemble at the Reynolds Chapel Baptist Church on Sunday at 1:30pm and are as follows: Active: Rev. Johnny Wayne Hann, Jr., Chris Hann, Nick Hann, Kyle Hann, David Whitehead, Steve Hann, and Shane Hann. Honorary: Mark McKinney, Richard Reynolds, and Chris Loveless.
