Robert L. "Catfish" Johnson

Mr. Robert L. "Catfish" Johnson, age 60, of Armuchee, passed away on Sunday, February 28, 2010, at a local hospital.

He was born in Summerville, Georgia on March 17, 1949, son of the late Bobby Johnson and the late Ruth Hardegree Johnson. He was a veteran, having served in Vietnam with the U. S. Army. He was a former employee of Galey & Lord and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Nellie Jane Johnson, and by a brother, Harvey L. Johnson.

Survivors include his wife, the former Patsy Wilczynski, to whom he was married May 23, 1975; a daughter, Crystal Gayle Johnson, Armuchee; a son, Robert Shane Johnson, and his wife, Allison, Armuchee; a sister, Barbara Mealor, and her husband Ted, Etowah, TN; 3 brothers, Clyde Johnson, and his wife, Linda, Coosa, David and Kenneth Johnson, both of Cartersville; 2 grandsons, Skyler Alexander Reed and Tristen Robert Shane Johnson; an aunt, Ezell Hardegree, Rome; several cousins, nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at 6 pm in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home. The Rev. Gregg Free will officiate. Following the service, Mr. Johnson will be cremated and a scattering ceremony will be held at the Georgia National Cemetery near Canton.

The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4:30 pm until the service time. At other hours, they may be contacted at the residence.
