Doris Elaine Shugart

Ms. Doris Elaine Shugart, age 71, of 26 Rainwood Drive, Silver Creek, passed away on Saturday, July 17, 2010, at a local healthcare facility.

Ms. Shugart was born in Floyd County on June 30, 1939, daughter of the late Starlin Wilson and the late Mary Ola Nix Wilson. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Donald Wilson. Prior to retirement, Ms. Shugart worked for over 40 years as a Licensed Practical Nurse first at Battey State Hospital and then at Northwest Georgia Regional Hospital. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church of Rome.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Heather Blalock and her husband, Brian, Silver Creek; 5 grandchildren, Marsha Carter, Rome, Ashley, Andrea, Bethany, and Justin Blalock, Silver Creek.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 20, 2010, at 2pm at the First Assembly of God Church with Pastor Dave McLucas officiating. Interment will follow in Rome Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home on Monday from 6 until 8pm. At other hours they may be contacted at the residence.
