Mrs. Mary G. Nails, age 63, 317 Stewart Road, Cedartown, passed away Monday morning, February 1, 2010, at her residence.
Mrs. Nails was born in Floyd County on October 16, 1946, daughter of the late Lonnie and Flossie Mae Redden. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Ronnie Wayne Nails, Jr., 3 sisters, Emmer C. Redden, Hattie Prater and Lottie Duncan, and by 3 brothers, Luther Padgett, William Redden, and Edward Franklin Redden, Sr. Mrs. Nails was a homemaker and was of the Pentecostal faith.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry Nails, to whom she was married on November 2, 1963; a daughter, Ms. Jenny Ramirez, Cedartown; 3 sons, Ronnie Nails and Trina, Silver Creek, Shane Nails, and his wife, Cindy, Cedartown, and Chris Nails, and his wife, Amy, Silver Creek; 2 sisters, Mrs. Cherry Womack, Lindale, and Mrs. Betty Womack, Silver Creek; 3 brothers, Thomas Redden, Silver Creek, Johnny Redden, Rome, and Willie B. Redden, Lindale; 11 grandchildren, Justin, Paige, Jordyn, Bridgett, Amanda, Haley, Dillon, and Grayson Nails, Kip, Kain, and Piper Ramirez; 5 great grandchildren, Jayce Poe, Richard Wright, Jr., Jacob Wright, Alexis Rayburn, and Seth Nails; nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday , February 3, 2010, at 1pm at the North Rome Church of God with the Rev. Elgin Williams and the Rev. Harold Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Hope Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 6 until 8pm. At other hours, they may be contacted at the residence.
Mrs. Nails will be taken to the North Rome Church of God on Wednesday to lie in state from 12 noon until the funeral hour. Pallbearers are requested to assemble at the church on Wednesday at 12:30pm and include: Justin Nails, Dillon Nails, Kip Ramirez, Kain Ramirez, Timmy Connelly, Bobby Nails, Randall Womack, and David Godfrey.
