Mr. Harvey Benton Litton, age 75, 531 Old Lindale Road, Lindale, passed away Saturday evening, February 6, 2010 in a local hospital.
Mr. Litton was born in Floyd County on November 2, 1934, son of the late Horace Dalton Litton and the late Pauline Nichols Litton. He retired from Inland Container Corporation, now Inland-Rome, following 40 years of employment. Mr. Litton was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Korean Conflict. He was a charter member of the Woodlawn Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, the former Doris Haney, to whom he was married on October 5, 1956; a daughter, Mrs. Brenda Vernon-Hill, and her husband, Frankie, Rome; a son, Steve Litton, and his wife, Susan, Rome; 2 sisters, Mrs. Sonja Dermo, and her husband, Tony, Carrollton, and Mrs. Lavonia Kinsey, Armuchee; 4 grandchildren, Crystal Curry, Amanda Moon, Brandon Litton, and Allie Williams; 3 great grandchildren, Dustin Moon, Hiley Curry, and Kaylee Curry; nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at 2pm in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home with his Pastor, the Rev. David Nance and the Rev. Elgin Williams officiating. Interment will follow in Floyd Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home on Monday from 6 until 8pm. At other hours, they may be contacted at the residence.
Pallbearers are requested to assemble at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home on Tuesday at 1:30pm and include: Brandon Litton, Bruce Litton, Phil Litton, Danny Williams, Wes Curry, David Litton, Howard Alexander, Rex Treadaway, Wayne Treadaway and Paul Treadaway.
Henderson & Sons Funeral Home has charge of the funeral arrangements.
